Green Eyes Coldplay Cover

Blurb

Chris Quinton & Erika Croxford  of Leading Light (ll) perform a cover of Coldplay’s iconic song ‘Green Eyes’. This beautiful arrangement will move anyone to a moment of beauty and peace. Notably Green Eyes was released on ‘A Rush of Blood To the Head’ in 2002. With around 13 years later green eyes still feels like a classic worth playing and worth listening too.

From the performers

Recorded for friends of ours Bella and Michael Cauchi’s wedding in 2013. We love, love, love this song & hope this version does it justice! This recording was lost in the files of our computers for years and years- recently we found it & thought heck why not put it out into the world.

*note – In the middle of the song you can hear Erika hit the piano to make sure Chris hits the harmony! Again, very real and simple.

Lyrics

Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand
And I come here to talk
I hope you understand
The green eyes, yeah the spotlight, shines upon you
And how could, anybody, deny you
I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter now I met you
And honey you should know
That I could never go on without you
Green eyes

Honey you are the sea
Upon which I float
And I came here to talk
I think you should know

The green eyes, you’re the one that I wanted to find
And anyone who tried to deny you, must be out of their mind
Because I came here with a load
And it feels so much lighter since I met you
Honey you should know
That I could never go on without you
Green eyes, green eyes
Oh oh oh oh [x4]

Honey you are a rock
Upon which I stand
